I'm thinking of removing Telnet control of in MultiPlay 3.

Now that OSC is well established, I just don't see the need for Telnet. It's always been finicky to connect and use.

Does anyone have any opinions on this either way?

David.
You can remove Telnet.
I currently don't need it.

helex

Agree with that. Don't think it is relevant anymore nowadays.

Telnet control will no longer be there from beta release v130.

Will there be a way to OSC to lighting software etc?

David

You can use OSC cues to control anything that accepts it.

In 10+ years, have never used it or have had the need to use it.

I was about to use it to trigger some props based on Arduino, but I was able to find an OSC library that I'll tinker with next weekend.

A good workaround might be the ability to run an external program/script (like Python or VBScript), which could be used to make the telnet connection, or any other type of trigger not directly supported by MultiPlay (like using SSH to control Philips Hue lights)   ;)

Just trying to set up Companion to use with Multiplay 3 but Companion currently expects Telnet to be there. Is there a way to configure Comanion to use OSC. Thanks.
