You can also insert a microphone input.

There is already code underway to setup audio inputs via Production Properties > Audio > Inputs but it's not visible to users yet.

I'm still looking at how inputs could be used. Please feel free to discuss here.

So, how do you guys see the audio inputs feature working?

Would it be a cue where you can route an audio input to a specified audio output and control the level?

In lighting consoles audio input can be used to trigger a scene change.
So a possible feature could be: trigger GO (or something from adlib list) when certain db is reached.

Passing audio input to an output could be also be useful.

The new audio trigger feature (in progress now) can trigger a cue upon an audio signal being detected above as set threshold.

The audio inputs feature would be to get audio in for sending to an output in a controlled manner.

Side chain ducking/compression. And not just for audio input but for other active audio patch. This would allow for offloading some of the ducking done on mixing board to the PC in certain situations when mixing sound effects, intermission videos and music, etc. However, this is likely to require more PC processing/memory requirements.
