Noise when starting the project

I recently downloaded the program and every time I try to play audio it sounds distorted or white noise

Is this with the old V2.x version (not really suitable for anything later than Windows XP), or the new V3.x version?

Version 2.5.5.0. it was a problem of compatibility with k-lite codec
