Hello everyone!

In the last two times I've used MPP I've got a strange behavior with minijack directly from laptop to soundesks. I hit "Go" and music starts but not in 00:00 time, I mean, starts half of a second, a second after sometimes. This behavior dissapears if I used an USB audio interface. I'm not sure if this is something of my laptop or MPP. Because if I send audio directly (Windows Media Player) goes right.

If someone more have this "issue" can be solved by and USB interface. Also cheap Aliexpress 🤪.

Cheer to all 🖖.

What happens if you start another cue while one is already playing? Does it start straight away?

Is the issue that the cue doesn't start playing immediately, or can you see the time start but no audio is heard for a second?

Hello everyone!

After 13-15 shows I'm very happy with MPP. Works fine, I found USB audio interfaces works better than a a direct minijack (but I'm not sure if this is something from my laptop or not).

Thank you David!

Hi David.

I cannot be sure because if I hit go another cue can't hear well if starts fine or not.

Times running but don't heard inmediatly.

But only happens with minijack port, thru an USB audio interface sounds perfect.

Ah! This issue don't affect always, sometimes I stop-all and Go again and sounds fine, other times same issue.

Have any idea what can be?

To test if a second cue starts currently while one is already playing, set the volume of the first cue to very low so you can hear the second one clearly.

Here's something I just found that may help.

See the part about unchecking "Allow hardware acceleration of audio with this device".

Thanks David!

I'll check it out and say something 🙃.

When you say the USB interfaces work better than the computer  sound card output, what do you mean?

If your computer has "Stereo Mix" enabled as a recording source then there will be a delay between pressing the "GO" button and the cue starting if you are using the computer sound card.

Is this your problem?

Cheers

Brian

Hi Brian.

I mean that when I use the minijack (sometimes) there is a little delay, not always and it doesn't have the same duration either.  Other times it works correctly and starts the track from 00:00:00.  I have not detected this if I use USB interfaces (Focusrite, Roland or any other).

I'll check it out the feature you mention and what David mention before.

Thanks for your response 🙃.

Yup,

Certainly I had that problem with a new laptop, playing thru the computer sound card the cue had a delayed start when "Stereo MIx" was selected, but only if you had not started a cue for about 15 seconds. It always started instantly thru a USB device.

Another audio problem, if you try to play thru a Bluetooth connected decvice then the cue starts instantly but you miss the first second or so because it takes that amount of time for the Bluetooth receiver to come out of standby. Great this modern technology Hah!!!!!

By now I can find nothing about to fix... tomorrow I'll check it out in the laptop

I had something similar with a laptop that had a combined headphone/micropone 3.5 jack.
Slight delay playing the first track (from multiplay, cooledit, or Audacity)
My old laptop with separate jacks had no problem.
Solution... dont use "new" laptop

aaronSramos

Uhmmm... Maybe is this. But I deactivate "Hardware Acceleration" and works fine. May you can use the mew laptop 🤪.
