Video End Play "Stop All" strange reaction

The project contains video files (clips with sound and footages) in a .mov format. After playing a clip, a footage is started, which is looped until the next clip is started.
When Cue Advance is set to "End Play" mode and playback of that Cue is interrupted with the "Esc" key, playback of the next Cue is automatically started as if the current one had just ended. If the next Cue is video, playback starts, but there is no image (if you play it naturally by starting it separately, or it starts automatically after the previous Cue ends, there is an image). Moreover, the next press of the "Esc" key (which I expect should stop everything) stops audio, but does not stop time count this cue. Only stopping it via the context menu helps. If the next Cue is audio, it starts playing (there is sound), and pressing the "Esc" key stops it.
